2007 Rosary Essay Contest

Sorry the contest has finished. There are no winners
Grand prize $100.00
First: Topic :Why the rosary is important (to me and/or to the world)
(Stories of miracles, favors received and/or conversions are acceptable)
Second Topic: Practical Ways to make the rosary more alive with actually tried examples (at least one tried example required)
Third: Topic Effective Ways to promote the rosary with actually tried examples (at least one tried example required)
Optional Fourth Section
Fourth: topic suggestions for future essays.
Prize (TBD) also awarded to best essay by a non-Catholic in any of the first three sections.

Rules:
First section to be at least 500 words
Each of the second and third sections to be at least 250 words for a total of at least 1000 words (500+250+250)
Minimum of one practiced example per section. Examples must be verifiable as already in practice.
Non practiced examples may be given but at least one already practiced example must be mentioned.
Essay must be emailed to sdrosaryessaycontest@gmail.com with subject entry
Include name, residence street address (no PO boxes) and phone number for identification purposes.
If non-Catholic mention so and your denomination and/or church of choice.
All essays must be original for this contest
No copyrighted material to be entered.
Any quotations or citations must be noted in footnotes.
Since grammar, spelling, punctuation etc. are not the essence of this contest, one chance for correction will be given by email.

Notice of extenuating circumstance must be given by contestant or representative to the contest judges by email before deadline.
An alternate method of submission will be offered for verifiable circumstances only. All costs of submission are the responsibility of contestant.
(A possible extenuating circumstance might be imprisonment, hospitalization or distance from San Diego.)

Deadline:
All entries for 2007 must be received (not dated) by 11:59 PM August 15, 2007 Feast of the Assumption
Prize winners to be announced on the feast of the Holy Rosary October 2007 by email and on this website.
Winner need not be present if excused for circumstances.
Decisions of the judges are final.
Rules may change.
Essays will not be returned - Keep copies for yourself.
